October 14 – 7pm. The Museum at Campbell River is excited to announce a new film presented by Arc’teryx Victoria to share the story of Cecil Dawson and Cedar Étoile as told through the exhibit Standing in the Gap. The short film will be premiered at the Museum on the evening of Friday, October 14th. Both Cecil and Cedar will be present to discuss the film and spend some time in the exhibit, answering questions and sharing stories following the screening. Doors open at 6:30pm and the film will be screened at 7pm. No prior registration is necessary, admission by donation, there will be refreshments.
Cedar, an ambassador for Arc’teryx Victoria, shared a bit about the motivation behind producing this documentary, “This exhibit is Cecil’s artistic expression of his familial truth, he shared these publicly in hopes that his grandparents and parents’ voices could finally be heard.”
This will be the last opportunity for the public to spend time with Cecil in the exhibit before it closes on November 6th, although we are so pleased that with beautiful film, his powerful stories will live on and continue to reach new audiences.
Please come join us for this celebratory event.
