Junior Naturalist
Join us for a unique adventure as we explore the ties between people and the natural world through games and crafts at the Museum. From the tiniest bugs and plants in our native plant garden to the biggest animals on land and in the sea, we will look at what’s happening all around us on Northern Vancouver Island and how we fit into this bigger story. We will also take a special field trip to the Discovery Passage Aquarium to get up close and personal with our undersea friends. The final day will be on location at the historic house of local conservationist and writer Roderick Haig-Brown. A drink and light snack provided.

Time Travelers Camp
Have you ever wondered what it was like to live in the past? To explore what life was like for the people living in Campbell River long ago?
Each day we will dive into a different part of our North Island History. Campers will get to experience what it was like to make their own paints, learn about early logging and tree types, explore float house design, imagine life on a fishing boat, and discover the games and daily chores that children had in the past. Field trips vary from week to week and may include: the Maritime Heritage Centre, Discovery Passage Aquarium, Discovery Pier, the Campbell River Art Gallery, Sybil Andrews Cottage, and the Haig-Brown Heritage House. Campers will also get the opportunity to explore areas of the exhibits and Museum not normally open to the public for an exclusive experience. Come travel through time with us! For the full day camps only, participants are asked to bring a lunch with them for the day.
